- Metallic thread run slow with eased tension and a larger-eye needle
For De Luna Upholstery we stitched a black snapback in metallic silver thread. Black and silver is about as much contrast as embroidery gets, and on a cap it earns a second look every time.
Metallic thread is beautiful and temperamental. It is stiffer than standard polyester, so we slow the machine down, ease the tension, and run a larger-eye needle to keep the filament from fraying mid-run. Skip any of that and the shine comes out ragged.
There is a quiet fit here, too: an upholstery shop knows stitching. When the client's whole trade is thread and material, the proof has to hold up to a professional eye — so we treat theirs the way they treat a customer's seat.
Choices like metallic thread are part of a bigger conversation about what a logo needs — we walk through it in how many thread colors your logo actually needs. Sometimes one perfect silver beats four ordinary colors.
If you run a shop on the Central Coast and want headwear that looks as considered as your own work, bring us the logo. We will stitch a real sample — metallic, matte, or anything between — starting with a quote.
