- Separate digitized files for caps and shirts, proofed before the run
Some logos forgive a sloppy stitch-out. A railroad company's mark is not one of them. When Genesee & Wyoming gear came through the shop, the job was simple to say and exacting to do: hats and shirts that represent the brand the right way, on quality garments.
That starts before the machine ever runs. We digitize the artwork ourselves — mapping every line of the logo into stitch directions, densities, and underlay so it sits crisp on a structured cap and clean on a shirt front. If you've ever wondered what 'digitized' actually means, this is the job where it shows.
Caps and shirts pull thread differently, so we don't run the same file on both. The curve of a hat panel and the drape of a shirt each get their own adjustments, and we stitch a proof before committing the run. Detail matters, and it's cheaper to catch it on stitch one than on piece fifty.
Thread choice carries the rest. We match colors against the actual garments, not a screen, and pick weights that hold up to real wear — the kind of decisions we cover in stitch count, thread weight, and fabric pull. Quality garments deserve quality decoration, and the two have to be decided together.
If your company's name needs to look right on a hat brim or a chest — whether you're a national operation or the crew down the street — we'd be glad to do the same careful work for you. Send us the logo and a count, and we'll come back with a real proof, not a guess.
