Locals Only 805

Every so often a job comes in that's less an order and more a challenge, and we love those. Locals Only 805 wanted a varsity jacket with a full back piece, a big, colorful embroidered showpiece that fills the whole back panel. The final design ran about 130,000 stitches. That is a serious amount of thread.

A back piece at that scale isn't just a bigger logo. The denser the embroidery, the more the fabric wants to pull and warp under all that thread, so the digitizing has to manage the stitch directions, the layering, and the backing to keep the panel flat and the colors crisp. Get it wrong and a jacket back oil-cans like a dented hood. Get it right and it lies clean and reads bold from across the lot.

We mapped the whole thing out and ran a stitched-out sample before committing, because at 130,000 stitches a mistake costs real time and real thread. The sample let us check color transitions and density in our hands before the jacket went under the needle for good.

We kept the file, so the Locals Only 805 crew can run more of these as the brand grows and every back piece comes out matching the first. Ambitious work like this only pays off if it's repeatable.
