Nuno Family

We had the opportunity to make hats for the Nuño family over in Buellton — Yupoong truckers, stitched in pink and gold. A family name on a hat is a small thing that means a lot, and we treat it that way.

Pink and gold is a bold pairing, and it works because the two carry each other — the gold reads rich against the pink instead of loud. We pulled spools side by side until the combination sat right under daylight.

The blank matters as much as the thread. Yupoong truckers hold a crisp front panel that takes embroidery cleanly, so the stitching sits proud on the foam instead of sinking into mesh.

Stitching onto a trucker front takes the right backing and a steady hoop — foam panels dent if you rush them. Every hat in the run got the same placement and the same care as the first.
