PocTown Ridaz

Playing with some colors for PocTown Ridaz. Every so often a job is as much about the palette as the stitching, and this riding crew's beanies were a chance to have some fun with thread.

A beanie is a different animal than a cap. The mark goes on a soft, stretchy fold rather than a firm panel, so the digitizing has to account for the give in the knit and keep the crew's mark reading clean as the cuff rolls and stretches on a rider's head.

We tried the crew's mark in a few thread combinations to see which one popped, matching colors against the knit until the set looked right. That's the kind of thing you can only really judge with a stitched-out sample in hand, not a render on a screen.

We kept the file, too, so when the Ridaz want another batch, the new beanies match the first ones exactly, and a rider who joined this year ends up with gear that lines up with the crew who started it.
