When Paul Toussaint asked us to put his wine label on a run of caps, we took it the way we take any name that means something to the person behind it — carefully. Toussaint Cellars is a small Los Olivos label, and the gear had to feel like the bottle: considered, not mass-produced.
We digitized the label mark and ran a stitched-out proof first, dialing the thread and density so the lettering stayed crisp across the cap front. A wine label is fine work, and embroidery only flatters it when the underlay and stitch order are set right — so we sampled before committing the run.
Structured fronts hold a logo upright through a long pour, which matters when the cap is doing double duty as merch and as the face of the brand. We kept the look clean and let Paul's name do the talking, the way a good label does on a shelf.
Being a short drive down the valley, we work the way the Santa Ynez wine country does — in person and unhurried. Drop the label off, see a real proof, approve the run, and because we hold the digitized file, the next batch of Toussaint caps will match this one stitch for stitch.
Thanks to Paul for the chance to represent his label. If you're a Central Coast winery looking for tasting-room caps and gear that honor the name on the bottle, come see us.
