When the City of Santa Maria's Public Works Operations crew came to us, the brief was simple and exact: black-and-white trucker caps, stitched to city spec, ready for the people who keep the streets, water, and yards running. No guesswork, no "close enough." A city standard is a city standard.

We built the run on Flexfit blanks for a reason. A structured fitted crown holds a logo crisp through a full shift in the sun, and the fit stays put whether someone's reading a meter or running a crew. The black-and-white mark had to read clean and high-contrast from across a job site, so we kept the stitch tight and the lettering legible at a glance.

Before the full run went out, we digitized the city's mark and pulled a stitched-out proof to check it against spec — letter spacing, logo placement, the white thread sitting bright on black without fill or fuzz. Once it was dialed, we saved the file. That way the next batch matches the last one, and Public Works stays uniform across every reorder.

Most of our work moves on a roughly 10 to 12 day turnaround, with sensible minimums, so a department can plan a run without scrambling. A clean handoff matters when the gear is going on the backs of people who serve the public every day.
