Sentinel-6 Team

Some jobs you don't forget, and this was one of them. The Sentinel-6 team came to us for embroidered shirts ahead of a satellite launch right here off our own coast, and we were honored to have a hand in it. It's not every day a Lompoc shop gets to put its stitches on a piece of space history.

Sentinel-6 is a collaboration on a scale that's hard to picture from the counter — NASA, ESA, EUMETSAT, and NOAA, four agencies working together on one mission. We treated the shirts the way we'd want our own name treated: digitized the mark, pulled a stitched-out proof, and matched the thread so every logo read clean and sharp before a single shirt went out.

The launch went up near Vandenberg, just over the hills from our shop. We've watched plenty of those rockets climb over the Valley, but it lands differently when you know the crew on the ground is wearing gear you stitched. That's the kind of thing that makes a workshop proud quietly, not loudly.

We kept the work simple and right. A mission team has enough to think about without worrying whether the embroidery will hold up, so we built these to last through long days and travel — gear that looks as squared-away on the last day as it did on the first.
