Detail
Name lettering digitized at satin widths that stay legible at small size

A student from the Lompoc Police Academy brought us a patch and a name to stitch. Not a big production run — one person's gear, headed somewhere it needs to look correct every single day.

Patch work is its own discipline. The fill has to sit dense and even, and the border has to close clean, because a patch gets inspected up close in a way a chest logo never does. We digitize for that: tighter underlay, a satin border that meets itself without a visible seam.

Name lettering is the other half, and it is less forgiving than it looks. Letters at that scale need the right satin width and spacing or they close up into blobs. We covered why the file matters in what "digitized" actually means — for uniform work, it matters twice.

We are right here in Lompoc, so this kind of job comes to the counter in person. We like that. You see the piece, we talk it through, and it comes back stitched — not printed, not pressed — because uniform gear should be built to last.

If you are heading into a uniformed role anywhere on the Central Coast — academy, agency, or department — bring the patch by. Small runs get the same care as the big ones. Start with a quote or just walk in.
