Santa Ynez Valley High School ASB

The ASB team at Santa Ynez Valley High wanted crewnecks that made them look like the crew they are, and we were happy to help. Student leadership does a lot of unglamorous work — matching gear is a small thing that makes it feel like a team.

We like embroidery on a crewneck for school groups. Fleece is a forgiving surface for thread, and stitching holds up better than print through a year of lockers, backpacks, and laundry.

The trick with fleece is the foundation. We hoop it with backing that keeps the fabric from pulling and set the underlay so the stitches sit on top of the nap instead of sinking into it. That's the difference between a logo that reads clean and one that disappears into the fabric.

School gear also tends to come back around — new members, new school year, another dozen pieces. Because the design stays on file, spirit wear that lasts is easy to reorder and comes out matching the first run stitch for stitch.
