South Side Coffee Co.

South Side Coffee Co. wanted merch with a little inside-joke pride to it, and the "Locos Only" line was born out of a three-way collab — the shop, a local artist named Halle Diane Dyer, and us. Halle drew it, the coffee shop dreamed it up, and we figured out how to make the artwork live on a cap and a beanie without losing a single line.

We took her design and digitized it once, then ran a stitched-out proof so everyone could see the real thread before the full run. From there it went onto trucker caps and beanies in a spread of colors — the kind of merch a regular actually pulls on before walking out the door, not the kind that sits in a bin by the register.

Embroidered hats and beanies each ask for different settings, so we dialed the stitch density on the knit beanies separately to keep the logo crisp without puckering the cuff. We kept the file too, so when South Side wants a second color or a fresh batch, it matches the first one exactly.

That's the best part of being a Lompoc shop. When a coffee shop, an artist, and an embroidery crew a few blocks apart get together, you end up with gear that feels like the town it came from.
